在陕西省话剧调演和“西北地区首届话剧节”上,陕西省人民艺术剧院演出的《白居易在长安》相继获奖。这不仅因为他们首次将唐代伟大诗人白居易的形象搬上当代话剧舞台,更为重要的是剧作和演出对诗剧风格的追求,为探索话剧民族化作出了有益的尝试。编剧李民生、杨志平夫妇,10年前曾以一部《唐太宗与魏征》震动剧坛,剧中的剑拔弩张的矛盾冲突,振聋发聩的精采语言,至今还使人历历如在目前。这次创作《白》剧,是表现白居易由擢升“左拾遗”到贬黜江州司马(即公元807—815)这8年间在长安的生涯,这是白居易一生中最辉煌的一段岁月。作者没有驾轻就熟,而是另辟新径,依据白居易的性格特征,吸收民族戏曲传神写意的优长,把
