84.101 Artillery Training Score System Using Laser Pulsing - H.R. Roberto, U.S. Patent No. 3927480, published December 23, 1975. This patent relates to a shooting training device that simulates a target equipped with a reflector with laser radiation. When shooting, the first laser beam emitted is used as a distance measurement to determine the time it takes for a given shot to reach the target. A second laser beam is fired at the end of the projectile’s flying time for the purpose of shooting a target. The laser beam contains a series of coded pulses with information about the type of paddle and the relationship between the bomb and the target location. This information is decoded on the target to calculate the effect of hit.
