1954年3月,《科学小报》创刊。由北京市科学技术普及协会主编的这份报纸是新中国成立后的第一张科技报。中国著名科学家茅以升曾说过:“科技报是中国的独创。”自诞生之日起,科技报不仅积极响应党中央“向科学进军”的号召,感受“科学春天”和煦暖风,更创造了中国乃至世界报业史上的神话:在发行高峰期,全国科技报的期发行总量逾1200万份。
March 1954, “Science tabloid” founded. The newspaper, edited by Beijing Association of Science and Technology Popularization, was the first science and technology newspaper after the founding of new China. Mao Yisheng, a famous Chinese scientist, once said: “Science and technology newspaper is the original creation of China.” Since the day of its birth, Science and Technology newspaper have not only responded positively to the call of “making progress toward science” by the party Central Committee, "The warm hegemony has even created the myth of the newspaper industry in China and the world. At the peak of the issue, the total number of issues distributed by the National Science and Technology Newspapers exceeded 12 million copies.
