Well-known biographer and poet Maya Angelo was found dead at his home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, at 86, Wednesday (May 28). Angelo dropped out of high school before becoming an American research professor at Wake Forest University. Angelo himself is an American research topic. She told USA Today in 2007: “I’ve shaped myself, I’ve taught myself so much.” Any label does not apply to her. She is a living encyclopedia of various professions and hobbies.
