The author introduced the research progress on the carbon metabolism of horticultural plants from the aspects of the types and changes of major carbon assimilates in fruits, the metabolism and transport of sorbitol, sucrose and starch, and the regulation of hormone and turgor of the metabolism of carbon assimilates.
