In order to determine whether CD4 T cell activity in measles patients and their response to measles virus are predominantly type 2 CD4 cells, the authors studied 36 measles patients. Male and female patients of 18 cases, the average age of 5.0 ± 0.9 years. Within 7 weeks after the appearance of the rash (average 18.2 ± 2.1 days), blood was collected and lymphocytes and supernatants were cultured.
