Addis Louisa Cavill (1865.12.4 ~ 1915.10.12), a British nurse. She was arrested for saving the belligerent soldiers without distinction in World War I and for helping some 200 Allied soldiers to flee the German-occupied Belgium. Later, she was charged with treason and sentenced to death by the court. Despite the international sympathetic cry, she was shot by a German firing squad. Her sufferings aroused worldwide accusations and extensive press coverage.
