春秋战国辩士云涌,演说方法各异。晏子规劝齐景公,探事献说;触詟说赵太后,顺情入机;齐客三字巧谏田婴,靠的是设疑隐引;邹忌讽齐王,则以类比喻理;优孟哭马纠谬误;毛遂自荐说楚王;墨子救宋,采用的是以智斗力胜了公输盘……古代思想家荀子曾说:“口能言之,身能行之,国宝也。”演说是一门说服人的艺术,这门艺术是重视方法的。明人谢榛论演说有这样的话:“起句当如爆竹,骤响易彻;结句当如撞钟,清音有余。”恽代英是一位革命家,也是一位杰出的演说家。在一次晚会上,由于已经有几位同志演说过了,当最后轮到恽代英时,听众已表现得很疲惫。他一走上讲台,便出乎意料地“哈哈哈”三声大笑。这“三笑”破空而出,有如卷帘望庐山香炉峰之雪。听众被这莫名其妙的“开场白”弄得目瞪口呆,好奇心驱使他们精力集中地进入到妙趣横生的语境中。倘若“舌才”之法运用得好,听者仿佛能听见微风吹拂树梢,看见云雀在阳光下飞翔。当然,不论是“唤起性”演说,还是“实用性”演说,切忌不要在台上玩弄裤兜里的手帕,因为,在缺乏勇气的情况下,许多伟大的才能都会消失的。
