At present, the water towers in cold regions of northern China are mostly heated and insulated by stoves. In addition to the need for special management during the heating period, it also consumes a large amount of coal. In terms of the annual coal consumption of the water supply stations in the Northeast, the average coal consumption per tower (Jin Renshi) water tower is 30 to 35 tons. The heating period is 150 to 180 days. The wooden water towers of the Yongta and Yalin lines in the northern part of the Binzhou line each have an average coal consumption of 60 to 80 tons, and the heating period is 180 to 200 days. For this reason, designing a non-heating water tower in a severely cold area is of some significance. The non-heating water tower has different requirements in terms of construction materials and structural types, and even in operation and management. Reasonable choices of construction types and building materials require thermal calculations. This article is based on relevant literature, root
