《喜福会》是美国华裔女作家谭恩美的代表作,讲述了四个家庭的四对母女在迥异的中美文化融合的家庭背景下产生了一系列的碰撞、冲突、矛盾的成长的故事。小说的情境设置很大程度上受到作者自身生活经历环境的影响,母亲们都经历过困难的家庭生活,女儿们相应的在这样的家庭结构中成长。这些社会条件都成为深度解读、分析《喜福会》里的人物性格构造、家庭成员关系以及家庭结构的复杂现实基础。
