Objective To observe the association between D dimer in peripheral blood and organ damage in children with Henoch-Schonlein purpura (AP). Methods Fifty-three children with AP were divided into two groups according to their organ damage. Results The positive rate of D-dimer with joint damage and brain damage was the highest, both of which were 100%, followed by the predominant gastrointestinal lesions at 80%. The lowest positive rate of simple rash, 50%. Conclusions Plasma D-dimer level is significantly elevated in patients with AP, and the degree of organ damage and disease progression in AP patients are closely related to D-dimer level.
