国画是中国传统文化高度浓缩的艺术表现形式,是以中国哲学为思想内容,以文、史、哲等文化基础作为支撑的艺术学科,可以说文化属性是国画发展动力的源泉,也是国画之所以称之为“文化”的重要原因。但时至当代,国画的文化属性却逐渐丧失,其原因有四个方面:传统文化的断层、展览体制、市场的介入、教育体制。鉴于此,在当代提出并倡导“文化国画”这个命题就十分有意义,能够使国画的文化属性得以重新回归,在当代社会里更具人文精神与艺术魅力。
