For the domestic and foreign academic circles who study the Victorian woman writer Elizabeth Cleghom Gaskell (1810-1865), a special timeline between 2010 and 2011 is available. 2010 marks the bicentenary of Gaskell’s birth anniversary, which signals the academic community’s summary of past criticisms. In the past year, all walks of life in the UK organized dozens of exhibitions, shows, concerts, lectures and seminars in London, Manchester, and Knutsford to cherish the memory of this “increasingly popular Victorian novelist ”. 2011 marked a new starting point and opened another 100-year history of Gaskell’s study. The topics of common concern of critics of each week are how to further promote the development of Gaskell’s research in the future,
