The self-assembly of cationic perylene diimide(PDI) and anionic cholesterol derivatives(CHOL) was conveniently achieved by the electrostatic attraction and p–p stacking interactions, exhibiting the well-defined supramolecular nanofibers ranging from hundreds of nanometers to micron dimension.
