高校的教学中,图书馆发挥着巨大的作用。如果说大学里面开设课程给学生传授知识的话,图书馆给学生提供了更为宽广的在知识的海洋中遨游的环境。但是随着现代通讯技术的发展、计算机技术应用的普及以及 internet 网络技术的发展,传统的图书馆如果继续固守着传统图书馆建设的思路,就发挥不出信息更新快、信息量大、信息先进的优势。对于获取知识的其他来源而言,无可否认的是,现在在普通高校教育知识受众的心中,传统图书馆的地位已经逐渐下降,甚至逐步淡出学生与科研工作者的视野。为提高图书馆在高校教育中的作用,适应当前网络知识普及化的发展方向,提高图书馆对一切求职人士的吸引力,对传统图书馆进行数字化改造已经势在必行。
