The signing of CEPA (Hong Kong-China Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement) provides an important platform for promoting the further development of the economic cooperation between Hong Kong and Guangdong. In particular, involving service trade, there is more room for cooperation between the two places. As a major province of exports, Guangdong is the manufacturing base of processing trade in Hong Kong. Most of the goods are imported and exported via Hong Kong. About 70% of Hong Kong air cargo and port container transportation also originate from Guangdong (PRD). The CEPA’s preferential regulations for logistics and transportation services actually allow the liberalization of transport services between Guangdong and Hong Kong. This will undoubtedly have a profound impact on the logistics and transportation industries of Guangdong and Hong Kong and even the economic cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong.
