Anomalies in the environment significantly affect the transfer of elements in plants, for example, γ-rays can cause the transfer of potassium and sodium in cotton roots. In this experiment, the effect of high dose γ-rays on elemental transfer in rice leaves was studied. The distribution of the elements was monitored by X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XEMS), and the chemical transfer of the five physiologically important elements such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, manganese and sulfur was studied by chemical analysis.
