Metal smelters have more contact with metallic dust and fumes, of which chromium, chromate, and plating are recognized as carcinogens. If metallurgists lack protection during work, excessive inhalation of these chemicals may cause bronchial mucosa Epithelial cells malignant, bronchial lung cancer occurs. The relevant departments of Chongqing conducted occupational disease surveys during the 10 years (1970 to 1979) of Chongqing Iron and Steel. The incidence of lung cancer among workers was as high as 61.14 / 100,000 and that of non-steel mills was 15.22 / 100,000, a four-fold difference between the two.
