A new material, AФГM, consisting of fluoroplastic, graphite and molybdenum disulfide was developed for the manufacture of compressor piston rings. Just as wear tests of AФГM materials under laboratory and non-lubricated compressor conditions show that the material has high wear resistance when used in a dry inert gas medium. When compressed dry air and oxygen, the wear resistance of this material is reduced. However, the absolute value of wear resistance of the AФM material is still small, so that it can be successfully used in compressors that compress the above gases.
