Objective To investigate the clinical value of ultrasonic diagnosis of fetal limb deformity. Methods From July 2004 to December 2008, pregnant women of more than 18 weeks of gestation in our hospital underwent routine ultrasound examination to observe the length and continuity of fetal limbs and to screen fetus limb deformity. Results A total of 37 cases of fetal limb deformity were detected (21 cases of polyhydramnios and 7 cases of other deformities). Including varus in 6 cases (bipedal varus in 3 cases), forearm missing in 2 cases, multi-fingered, toed in 2 cases, short limbs in 27 cases (8 cases of seal children with chromosomal abnormalities in 5 cases). Misdiagnosis in 2 cases (hand and foot deficiencies). Conclusion Prenatal ultrasound can clearly diagnose fetal limb deformity and observe the length and continuity of fetal limbs is the preferred method of monitoring fetal limb deformity.
