鲤鱼是我国重要的淡水经济鱼类。为了更好改良鲤鱼经济性状,提高其生产性能。国家水产总局长江水产研究所,自一九七四年以来,利用江西婺源荷包红(♀)与云南源江鲤(♂)杂交获得F_1代——荷元鲤。该品种近几年来经过南方诸省广泛养殖生产实践证明,它具有较明显杂交优势、即:生长速度快、病害少、养殖周期短、产肉率高,当年鱼种可养成商品鱼,是池塘养殖增产一个好品种。北方鉴于地理环境、气候条件,生物饲料等方面与南方有所差异,荷元鲤两亲本又都为长江以南鲤鱼品种,因此、大面积推广,增产效果则有待于实践的检验。
