扦插育苗技术中插穗质量的优劣是影响成活率的主要因素之一。插穗质量标准选择至今没有指标,在选择插穗上,过去我们以枝条的部位、粗细来决定,但又常常发现丢弃的插穗在潮湿地方很好的生了根。看来在插穗的选择上还不合理。1977—1978年我们在水杉扦插育苗时,试用插条重量与体积之比值作为选择插穗的指标,收到了较好的效果。方法是:将水杉侧枝插穗先称其重量,接着放入水中测定插穗体积(插穗排出水的容量即为插穗体积)。将重量与体积之比值不同的插穗,分别扦插在苗床,观察成活率,结果见表1。从试验看
