I recently read Marquez’s “One Hundred Years of Solitude.” The first time I read it on the university campus more than a dozen years ago, I was most concerned with the novel’s plot itself: the love-hate struggle among the seven generations in Makongdo village The village once suffering from insomnia; the mystical sheepskin scroll; the twin brother who had the wrong name; the girl who pulled the sheet fly; the pig that was eaten by the ants
