会泽县位于云南省东北部,曲靖市西北部。县内核桃分布广泛,全县21个乡镇都有核桃分布或引种。主要分布在牛栏江、以礼河、硝厂河流域。垂直分布从海拔1100米的纸厂乡江边村至海拔2800米的老厂乡白龙茂村都有,相对高差1700米,核桃种植较多、生长较好、最为适宜的海拔是1800-2300米。
