农业系统首家国家级企业集团——中国华鑫集团诞生在江苏省吴江市。规模从小到大。该集团的前身是吴江八都工艺品厂,1989年时只有3个人3台织机。进入九十年代,该厂依托横向联营,组建华鑫集团,逐步形成阿拉伯头巾织造、编结和甲鱼饲料、养殖、加工、销售2条龙;1993年升格为江苏华鑫集团,1994年又升格为中国华鑫集团。该集团现拥有10家控股企业,遍布江浙沪豫鲁粤等地区,资产总额1.99亿元,占地面积92万平方米,成为一个跨行业、跨地区、多品种、全方位、贸工农一体化的集团型企业。
