This article reports 5 cases of hypertensive mesencephalic hemorrhage confirmed by CT. There were 4 males and 1 females, the youngest was 58 years old and the oldest was 75 years old. All of them had a history of hypertension for many years and 1 had cerebral thrombosis. All 5 patients had sudden onset. The first symptom was dizziness in 4 cases, headache in 2 cases and vomiting 2
