From October 12 to October 13, 2001, co-sponsored by the Chinese Association for the Study of Arab Literature and the Oriental Literature Research Center of Peking University, Beijing International Studies University and Shanghai International Studies University co-hosted the Symposium on Arab Literature at the Turn of the Century at Peking University Held. Representatives from colleges and universities such as the Institute of Foreign Languages, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University, Beijing Foreign Studies University and some other publications attended the seminar. At the opening ceremony, Huang Baosheng, director of the Institute of Foreign Languages of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Zhou Lie, vice chancellor of Beijing Foreign Studies University, Ren Guangxuan, vice dean of the School of Foreign Languages of Peking University, translates and researches the oriental literature of Peking University in recent years.
