In the 10th issue of the “Chinese Language Teaching Newsletter” in 1994, two essays were published. One is Comrade Gu Chuanzhi’s “Still to Engage in Chinese Teaching According to the Tradition”; the other is Comrade Wei Wu’s “Chinese Teaching must Dare to Break with the Tradition”. . For these two acerisms, the author has both opposing and agreeing. Gu Wen’s appreciation of “tradition” is in fact an appreciation of “traditional Chinese language learning methods”. Gu Wen’s understanding of “enhanced reading, overall sentiment, emphasis on experience, emphasis on counter-revolution, and training are all correct;
