第三代移动通信的迅速发展形成了多种通信体制并存的局面,国际上出现了三大标准:欧洲的WCDMA、北美的cdma2000和我国的TD-SCDMA,由于不同标准的系统各自独立,难以互通,给移动终端的全球漫游带来了巨大的障碍。随着新的通信体制和标准的不断提出,通信产品的生存期缩短,开发费用上升,传统的通信体制已很难适应。软件无线电是实现不同通信方式工作终端兼容的最佳方案,如果采用通用化设备作为软件无线电的硬件平台,可以使软件无线电技术更具通用性和可实现性。
