不同时代总有纷繁各异的时尚流行,时尚或可称之为“趣味”或者“价值观”。人类不同时期价值观的变化直接导致新趣味的产生,从衣食住行的物化形象到精神境界的理念追求,趣味以一种整体的形象成为每个时段人类留给历史的痕迹。思考趣味产生的原因,很早的时候,西塞罗给了一个简单的答案:“产生趣味的原因很简单,这就像一个人吃多了甜食,很想尝尝咸食调节一下肠胃一样。”刘庆和的艺术总是给人以亲切而闲适的感觉,一种奇异且超越现实的情境,但又与时下粗简地追求新鲜、刺激、怪异的趣味相迥异。刘庆和作品中散发的那种鲜活生动的生命感动给很多人留下深刻的印象。
