许厚泽安徽歙县人,中国科学院院士,大地测量与地球物理学家、研究员,博士生导师,现任研究所学术委员会和学位委员会主任,兼任同济大学等高校兼职、特聘教授,湖北省地球物理学会理事长。1955年毕业于同济大学测量系,1962年测地所地球重力专业研究生毕业。曾任中科院武汉分院院长,研究所所长、国际大地测量协会执委、国际重力委员会副主席,国际地潮委员会主席,国际大地测量杂志编委,中国测绘学会副理事长,湖北省科协副主席,第六、七、八届全国人大代表。
