沙湖位于宁夏石嘴山市平罗县西南,距银川市56公里。宁夏沙湖风景区为国家旅游局确定的王牌景点和国家5A级生态旅游区,是世界环境保护五百佳单位之一。来到沙湖,首先感触到的是水。这里水面辽阔,坐在游船上,仰望蓝天白云,俯视碧波万顷,水天一色,仿佛置身于杭州西湖。实际上沙湖面积比杭州西湖大得多,有将近4个西湖大。奇妙的是在沙湖中还有丛丛芦苇,使人又仿佛来到了苏南沙家浜的芦苇荡。到了沙湖南岸,又感触到了沙。沙丘起伏,柔沙似绸,
