出版业在历史上对文化科学和社会发展做出了重大贡献,但是在很长的历史时期里,无论是我国还是世界各国的出版业,似乎并未获得自我审视的内在动力,而只有在当今的信息社会里,在出版业被推到历史上前所未有的重要地位的时刻,出版研究终于被提到日程上来。自60年代以来,一些文化出版发达的国家相继建立了编辑出版学会和研究机构,并在高等院校设置了有关专业,致力于研究编辑出版的理论和实践。在东亚一些国家,近年来编辑出版研究还形成了区域性活动的规模。我国编辑出版研究,虽然起步较晚,但却颇为活跃。这些客观事实发人深省之
The publishing industry has made a significant contribution to cultural science and social development in history.
