1994年度中国电视新闻评奖显示出,电视新闻日益成为中国电视的主体,成为各个电视台的支柱节目,而各台也十分重视全国电视新闻的评奖,自觉地接受这种检阅和评估。这不仅反映了当今时代的客观需要,改革开放年代的呼唤,而且反映了电视新闻主体意识的增强,标志着我国电视新闻逐渐走向成熟。 随着电视新闻的改革与发展,各台都着力干办好电视新闻节目。每天在不同的时区播出大量的消息以及新闻专题、新闻言论等等,其中特别是连续报道和系列报道,以其特有的深层次和大气势引起人们的关注。一般说,消息、新闻专题、新闻言论大都是一次性完成的;而连续报道和系列报道尽管每次容量与消息差不多,但它能以数集、十数集的篇幅连续播出,或与事件同步进行,或对事件作全面铺展,其影响力和社会效果是可想而知的。
