2003年,我省原省委书记刘方仁、原交通厅长卢万里等相继落马。原河北省委书记程维高、原云南省省长李嘉廷、原国土资源部部长田凤山、原安徽省副省长王怀忠等13名省部级高官被查办、惩处,其中一些被判处死刑或者死缓,还有的被判处无期或十年以上的有期徒刑。据最高人民检察院统计,2003年1至11月,全国检察机关共立案侦查涉嫌贪污贿赂、渎职侵权等职务犯罪案件38025件
