同治八年(1869年)陕西回民起义军因口粮尽绝,遂由陇东董志原退至宁夏境内,左宗棠指挥清军进剿。自四月二十四日至九月十四日,宁夏马化龙(即文中马朝清)及陕西回民陈林、马正和、白彦虎等向左宗棠呈词七起,情词凄楚,左宗棠有批语,咄咄逼人。现将马化龙等人七起呈词和左宗棠的批语一并刊出,以供研究使用。文中小标题为编者所加。原件存国家第一历史档案馆,由中央民族学院马寿千教授辑录提供。
During the eight years of Tongzhi (1869), the rebel forces of Shaanxi Muslim rebel forces tried their best to eliminate grain, and Dong Zhiyuan from Longdong retreated to Ningxia. Zuo Zongtang commanded the Qing army to suppress it. From April 24 to September 14, Ningxia Ma Hualong (ie Wenzhong Ma Chaoqing) and Shaanxi Muslims Chen Lin, Ma Zhenghe, Bai Yanhu and others left for Zuo Zongtang with seven words of sad love, Zuo Zongtang Approval, aggressive.
