上海回族伊斯兰教在清末至民国前期颇有发展,成立了清真寺董事会、中国回教学会、上海伊斯兰师范学校,以及一些穆斯林报刊,涌现了哈德成、达浦生、伍特公、沙善余、金子云、马晋卿、马坚等知名人士。当时沪上回族、伊斯兰教重要事件与当时知名人士哈少夫密切相关,《上海清真寺董事会议案》《上海清真寺成立董事会志》等重现了哈少夫不同寻常的历史。
The Hui Muslims in Shanghai developed quite well from the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republican Period, and established the mosque’s board of directors, the Chinese Muslim Association, the Shanghai Islamic Normal School, and some Muslim newspapers and magazines, with the appearance of Hadecheng, Dapusen, , Gold cloud, Ma Jinqing, Ma Jian and other celebrities. At that time, the important events of the Hui and Islam in Shanghai were closely related to the famous eminent person Haoshuo. The “History of the Shanghai Mosque” and the “Establishment of the Board of Trustees of the Shanghai Mosque” reproduced the unusual history of Haoshov.
