The first national agricultural literature survey and layout seminar was held in Dayong, Hunan Province on November 13-16, 1992. Participants at the conference included 30 members from various institutes of agriculture, animal husbandry and science, and other units actively supporting the investigation and layout of agricultural literature resources. The conference received 29 papers and materials. Vice president Xie Ai of Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences came to the meeting for guidance and made brilliant reports on implementing the spirit of the 14th National Party Congress and changing concepts. It was warmly welcomed by deputies. Xie Chenggui, director of the Documentation and Information Center of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, conveyed the spirit of the National Scientific and Technological Information Work Conference held by the State Science and Technology Commission in September.
