本研究从语义学的视角分析名转动词及与其近义的常用动词的语义差异。通过对感官名转动词eye、finger、nose、tongue以及常用感官动词see、feel、smell、taste的分属类别、附加意义,以及在BNC及COCA语料库不同语域中词频的分布差异进行对比分析,我们发现,多数名转动词只能用做动作动词,而多数常用感官动词可兼做动作动词、结果动词及系动词;感官名转动词与常用感官动词在感知的具体程度、感知者对被感知物体的态度、感知方式的直接性、感知过程等方面具有相同之处,但名转动词的感知方式强调相关感觉器官的参与;语料库中名转动词的总使用频数大大低于常用感官动词,两者均在小说语域分布最多,但名转动词集中在小说语域中更为明显。感官名转动词正在经历着连续统的习语化过程,在近年中的使用数量呈增加趋势。美国英语中eye与finger使用频率较高,而nose及tongue的使用频率与英国英语相当。
This study analyzes the semantic differences between famous verbs and their common verbs from the perspective of semantics.
