近年来透闪石和硅灰石、透辉石被称之为“新三石”,为近代科技和工业发展所倡用的节能新必陶瓷原料。商县城东北韩子坪分水岭一带的透闪石矿,距县城约30公里。该区原属黄汲清教授所划分的秦岭地轴之北的元古代地块。近年来,笔者等运用板块构造观点,对该区进行了初步研究与划分,认为属北秦岭古洋板块之宽坪古隆起。北侧以蓝桥—三要深大断裂为界(俯冲带);南侧以麻街—皇台深大断裂为界。
