在“天造山水,人创商机”的发展主题烘托中,万宁市于2006年11月28日拉开了“纪念撤县设市10周年”的大幕。同一时刻,该市举行香港中信泰富神州半岛旅游开发等十大项目建设启动仪式。省委书记、省人大主任汪啸风,省委副书记罗保铭,省委常委、副省长于迅,省委常委、宣传部长周文彰,省委常委、秘书长肖若海,省人大副主任秦醒民、王法仁,副省长符桂花、姜斯宪等省领导前往祝贺并出席项目启动仪式,同时和国内外嘉宾及数万名群众参加了以“魅力万宁”为主旋律的第三届2006’万宁国际文灯节活动。
