江苏是全国推行合作社事业最早的省份之一。早在1927年,我国著名实业家张謇在南通通海商业学校,由学生集资组织的贩卖部,就具有供销合作社的雏形。到1928年合作社事业开始由国民党政府着手全面推开时,中共江浙区委特派员沈毅即在江苏泰兴刁家网首创醒农合作社。成为我党领导下江苏最早出现的供销合作社,至今已有70多年历史了。
Jiangsu is one of the earliest provinces in the country to promote cooperatives. As early as 1927, Zhang Yu, a famous industrialist in our country, was in the Nantong Tonghai Commercial School. The sales department financed by student-raising organizations had the prototype of a supply and marketing cooperative. By 1928, when the cause of cooperatives began to be fully pushed by the Kuomintang government, Commissioner Shen Yi of the Jiangsu-Zhejiang Committee of the CCP commissioned the revival of farming cooperatives in Taixing, Jiangsu Province. It has become the earliest supply and marketing cooperative under the leadership of our party for more than 70 years now.
