《名作欣赏》一九八二年第二期刊载的周锡山同志所译霍顿独幕喜剧《亲爱者离去》及赏析文章,读后甚感兴趣。惟觉题目译名尚可推敲,剧名如按原文直译应作《亲爱的死者》。重读霍顿原作,深感此剧思想、艺术上颇多佳胜,似有再行评论之必要,不揣谫陋,遂为此文。子女非常自私,不愿照料父母,等到老人一死,后辈互相争夺遗产,闹得不可开交。这种败德和恶习,即使在资本主义社会中也为正直的人所不齿,觉得实在可鄙,真是可笑。这种黑暗现象固然应该予以揭露,但是子女对父母的遗产有合法的继承权,如
