所谓气门间隙是指拖拉机发动机气门关闭时,气门杆尾端与摇臂间的间隙。其作用是为配气机构的零件留受热膨胀余地。发动机在工作中,要求气门间隙的大小符合技术规定。气门间隙过小,则机件受热膨胀时,会使气门关闭不严,气缸压缩不良,发动机功率下降,同时由于高温气体的冲击。使磨合好的气门接触面烧坏;若气门间隙过大,则使气门开度变小,气门开启延续时间变短,造成进气不充足,排气不干净,导致发动机功率下降。此外,由于气门杆与摇臂发生敲击,还易造成零件损坏,缩短机件使用寿命。
