According to Gas Turbine World’s November-December 2011 issue, Pratt & Whitney is developing the next generation FT4000 gas turbine based on Pratt’s PW4000 aviation turbo fan engine. On more than 850 aero engines, PW4000-class turbofan engines have accumulated 26 million flight hours.
