Editing is a cultural production activity that integrates knowledge and scholarship. It has its own rules of operation and professional characteristics. It is not something that anyone can do. Some people think that editorial work is not difficult to do, as long as familiar with the layout process, as long as the mastery of the editorial, publishing requirements of all aspects, you can edit. This understanding is very superficial, but also very harmful. Editors should have a higher literacy, have a wider range of knowledge, have a good structure of professional knowledge. An editor should not only be able to handle general contributions, but should also be able to review highly-informative contributions from the industry. In addition, an editor must also have some expertise in a particular field and be able to conduct a considerable depth of academic research. This academic attainment is the cost of finding problems, judging value and discriminating authenticity when editing and reviewing manuscripts.
