This year marks the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party. Since its founding, the Chinese Communist Party has established a system of archival custody and preserved the party’s documentation. However, in this process, especially during the first cooperation between the KMT and the CPC, many precious archives of the CPC and its important leaders participating in the work of the Kuomintang were mostly preserved in the file department of the Kuomintang. In 1949, with the defeat of the Kuomintang, these important files moved to Taiwan and were collected at the Kuomintang Central Party History Museum. After the 90s of the 20th century, the Kuomintang Central Party History Museum began to open its archives. In 2003, the Hoover Institution of Stanford University in the United States cooperated with the museum to organize and copy these files one by one. At the Hoover Institution, it opened up to the academic circles and facilitated the study of Chinese historians. We hereby invite special tribute members such as Jin Yilin to the Institute of Modern History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences to select some of the letters from Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai and Liu Shaoqi during the Great Revolution to be published in public to readers.
