Although the road map of western Sichuan was published in 1938, the work was completed as early as the war in Europe. According to author Oesterhelt, due to various difficulties, it was published as late as last year. Early German Weether Stotzner organized a Sichuan exploration team to detect the western Sichuan and Sichuan (now Xikang) zone, originally planned for two years. At that time, there were entomologists Emil Funke, ornithologist Hugo Weigold, and professor Botany W from Shanghai Tongji University. According to Limpricht cartographer Otto Oesterhelt et al., The organization is extremely well established. They arrived in Hankou on January 5, 1914. Since then, they changed their boat to Jiangxi Province and arrived in Chongqing on March 12 to go overland to Chengdu and reach Dabian County. The team’s work was not intended to get the message that the war broke out in Europe after it arrived on August 27, 1914, due to a pause. The original plan, shall not be realized, returned to Chengdu, the team also dissolved. Stozner, an ordinary description of the trip, was described in Ins unerforschte Tibet (published by Leipzig in 1924).
