Reducing the amount of metal used in mechanized stents is one of the important issues in the manufacture of coal mine machinery. The weight of the mechanized scaffolds accounts for 90% of the weight of the fully mechanized mining equipment. Although research institutes and factories have done a great deal of work in reducing the amount of metal used in mechanized stents, this problem has not been solved. For example, the 2MK (2MKЭ) fully mechanized mining equipment has been mass-produced for more than a decade, and although the strength of rolled plates used has been increased by almost a factor of 0.5, the metal content of the support has been reduced by only 16%.
