本文根据作者多年来的教学实践，参照几套教材的使用效果，探讨了教材的适用性问题，即课文内容是否贴近现今中国的社会状况，能否满足外国学生借助汉语进行各种交际的实际需要。作者认为，某些教材大多以不合时宜的文学作品作为课文，脱离现实，不符合学生的需要，教学效果不理想。作者指出，外国人学汉语的主要目的是希望能依靠这一语言工具从事与中国有关的种种国际社会活动，因此我们应该采用实用型的教材，进行实用性的教学，帮助学生迅速掌握汉语。作者最后指出，为使教材的编写工作更上一层楼，对这项工作进行全面的总结很有必要。
Based on the author’s teaching practice over the years and the reference to the effect of using several sets of textbooks, this article explores the applicability of textbooks, that is, whether the content of the text is close to the current social conditions in China and whether it meets the actual needs of foreign students for various forms of communication through Chinese . The author believes that most of the textbooks are mostly outdated literary works as text, out of the reality, does not meet the needs of students, the teaching effect is not satisfactory. The author points out that the main purpose of foreigners learning Chinese is to rely on this language tool to engage in various international social activities related to China. Therefore, we should adopt practical teaching materials to provide practical teaching and help students to master Chinese quickly. Finally, the author points out that it is necessary to make a comprehensive summary of this work in order to make the preparation of teaching materials a step further.
